The Big Picture: Your Compliance Dashboard and Overview Page:

At the heart of your EPICompliance Customer Console are two key features designed to give you a comprehensive yet digestible view of your organization's compliance health:

  1. Overall Compliance Status Meter: Located on the dashboard. This is your at-a-glance indicator of how well your organization is doing overall, combining scores from all areas into one simplified metric.
  2. Individual Compliance Status Meters: Located in the overview section. Dive deeper with these meters, each focusing on a specific regulatory domain—HIPAA Privacy, HIPAA Security, ACA-OIG Medicare Billing, and OSHA for Healthcare. They provide detailed insights and allow for focused improvements.

Unpacking the Individual Compliance Meters

Each regulatory area has its unique scoring system, breaking down into specific activities that contribute to your total score. Let’s explore these:

1.  HIPAA Privacy Compliance

Achieving HIPAA Privacy compliance involves meeting several key criteria, each contributing a portion to your total score:

  • Monthly Compliance Tasks: 45% is based on completing monthly tasks related to HIPAA Privacy.
  • Confidentiality Agreements: 15% depends on users signing the HIPAA Confidentiality Agreements.
  • Compliance Officer Assignment: The final 5% is awarded when the HIPAA Privacy Compliance Officer is designated, and the Compliance Officer Assignment Agreement is signed.

2.  HIPAA Security Compliance

  • Compliance Officer Role: Assigning a HIPAA Privacy Compliance Officer and signing the agreement contributes 5%.
  • Security Risk Assessment: A substantial 30% hinges on completing a Security Risk Assessment and uploading the report to the EPICompliance system.

3.  ACA/OIG-Medicare, Healthcare Billing Compliance

This area focuses on compliance with the Affordable Care Act, Office of Inspector General-Medicare, and Healthcare billing practices:

  • Monthly Compliance Tasks: A significant 60% reflects completion of monthly tasks specific to ACA-OIG Medicare Healthcare Billing.
  • Compliance Officer Designation: The designation and agreement signing of the HIPAA Privacy Compliance Officer make up the remaining 10%.

4.  OSHA for Healthcare Compliance

Understanding Your Overall Compliance Score

Your overall score is more than just a number—it's a dynamic reflection of your commitment to compliance across all areas. It's calculated as a weighted average of the individual meters, each contributing equally to the final picture. This balanced approach ensures that no single area can skew your overall compliance standing, encouraging a holistic view of compliance management.
