Does HIPAA require that training courses be HIPAA certified by a government agency?

No, HIPAA does not require training courses to be certified by a government agency. However, Covered Entities and Business Associates must provide HIPAA training to their workforce members with access to protected health information (PHI). The training must be appropriate and effective for the workforce member's role and responsibilities.

To ensure that the training meets regulatory requirements and best practices, Covered Entities and Business Associates should work with a reputable training provider, like EPICompliance. Our HIPAA training courses are designed by subject matter experts and are regularly updated to reflect changes in HIPAA regulations. Our courses are also accredited by professional and/or industry organizations to demonstrate the quality and effectiveness of our training programs.
