Will removing the ACA/OIG Medicare module impact my compliance status?

The ACA/OIG Medicare module includes comprehensive compliance tools such as the Healthcare & Billing Practices Compliance (covering Waste, Fraud & Abuse, Private Insurance, ACA, and Medicare) as well as related policies, template forms, training, and compliance tasks. These elements support a well-rounded billing compliance framework.

Even if your organization does not currently participate in federally funded healthcare programs, these practices are widely recognized as industry standards and may still offer significant value in strengthening your compliance posture—especially if you bill private insurers or accept out-of-pocket payments.

While deactivation is possible, it should only be done after a thoughtful review of your regulatory obligations and risk exposure. We recommend that this evaluation be conducted in consultation with your legal counsel or compliance officer to ensure continued alignment with applicable requirements and best practices.

⚠️Please note: If your organization is later involved in a billing-related audit, investigation, or legal matter, the absence of this module could represent a gap in your documented compliance program. Carefully consider the potential implications before proceeding.
