Some organizations have requested the ability to remove the ACA/OIG Medicare module to better tailor their compliance dashboard to their operational scope. While this flexibility is available, we strongly advise that any decision to deactivate this module be made with great care and thorough evaluation.
The ACA/OIG Medicare module contains critical components of Healthcare & Billing Practices Compliance, including policies, forms, tasks, and training related to Waste, Fraud & Abuse, Private Insurance, ACA, and Medicare. These elements reflect widely accepted industry standards—not only for federally funded programs but also for organizations that bill private payers or accept out-of-pocket payments.
Even if your organization does not currently participate in Medicare or other federal healthcare programs, the underlying compliance principles within this module may still be required—or strongly recommended—depending on your payer agreements, state-level expectations, or risk profile.
Therefore, before removing this module, your organization should conduct a comprehensive internal review that includes:
- Input from your compliance officer and legal counsel
- Review by senior leadership or governance
- A thorough assessment of payer requirements, regulatory obligations, and long-term risk exposure
⚠️ Note: Disabling this module without full consideration may lead to unintended gaps in your compliance posture. We recommend formal documentation of your review process and legal guidance prior to making any changes.
