What do the Pending, Completed, and Past Due columns mean in the Status by Category panel?

In the “Status by Category” section of the EPICompliance Customer Console, each compliance module (such as OSHA for Healthcare, HIPAA Security, HIPAA Privacy, and ACA/OIG – Medicare) is divided into several categories — for example, Compliance Leadership & Oversight, Risk Assessment, Auditing & Monitoring, Safety & Ergonomics, Policies & Procedures, and Equipment Standards.

Within each category, you’ll see three status columns: Pending, Completed, and Past Due. These columns give you a quick, color-coded snapshot of your organization’s compliance performance at a more detailed level.

Status

Meaning

Pending Tasks that are published and currently within their 30-day completion window. These items are in progress and need to be completed soon to maintain compliance momentum.
Completed Tasks that have been finished and recorded for that category. Completed items indicate that progress has been made on those compliance activities and that your organization is actively managing its obligations.
Past Due Tasks that were not completed within 30 days of publication. These are considered overdue and require immediate attention to prevent compliance gaps.

Each number in these columns is clickable — selecting a number opens a detailed list of tasks for that category and status (for example, “Past Due” under Safety & Ergonomics). This allows administrators and license managers to immediately identify which specific items are pending or overdue and take corrective action.

By combining these status columns with category-level tracking, the Status by Category feature provides a clear, data-driven way to monitor progress, stay compliant, and focus your team’s efforts where they matter most.
